This is not a bill. This notice from Internet Corporation Listing Service (ICLS) and others
like it, delivered via postal mail, targets domain name owners. If you receive one, you will note that it refers to
your specific domain name. See images below. In our opinion, this notice is deceptive. While it
appears to be an invoice, it is in fact a solicitation. We have the following concerns with this solicitation:
- It is confusingly similar in appearance to that of a legitimate billing invoice
- It fails to demonstrate a good faith attempt to solicit the business of the recipient
- It employs deceptive, manipulative tactics to solicit an immediate response from recipients, especially
those who are not informed regarding this type of service
For this reason, Azalea Technology is notifying its customers and the general public regarding this solicitation. If
you believe, like we do, that this practice of Internet Corporation Listing Service is misleading and improper, we
invite you to make your feelings known by writing to the Federal Trade Commission
and/or your local State's Consumer Protection Office.
